where can i get a six string femder bass guitar?

I'm looking for a six string bass guitar that has the archetype fender look to it.

Until you can find a maker that makes these, I wouldn't even bother with searching the online music stores. Most of today's 6-string basses don't look anything like a Fender Fidelity bass.

What you might try though, is to use Google Images to search:

6-string bass guitar

to see if there is anything that looks like what you want. Find out the make and model, then check out pricing via the online sites.

Note though, that Fender DOES run a 5-string Precision AND Jazz bass. C'mon! It's only one string!

What is the secret to John Patitucci's clean jazz tone on his six string bass guitar?

Specially the style that is heard on his latest album, Line by Line, which is all I have heard.

I have faith that Patitucci's tone has everything to do with his technique and approach to electric bass playing. He approaches the electric bass much in the same way a jazz guitar, which is usually characterized by take a shower, fat tone quality. To be sure, his equipment adds to his approach, but it is mostly his technique and playing style.

Patitucci also has numerous albums on the GRP identify, including his self-titled solo debut. He also plays on Chick Corea's Elektric Band and a thousand of Dave Weckl's recordings. Check all of those out - he is amazing!

In 2008, Overcome Buy , the national electronics retailer, began dipping its toe into the world of musical instruments. By late March of this year, the society had opened its 99th and 100th musical instrument departments, at its new stores in Upper Manhattan and in Flushing, Queens.

“We promote many ways to consume music. Why not create?” Justin Barber, a spokesman for the company, said. “It honourable seemed like a natural extension.”

At the store in Upper Manhattan, customers can select from 45 acoustic guitars, which are kept in a closed, ambience-controlled room, ranging from a $99.99 Squier guitar to a $3,999.99, six-string Taylor. (And two ukuleles). Along the red wall facing the customers when they pass into the department hang about 80 electric guitars and bass guitars, in a similar range of prices. DJ equipment lines another separator.

Instruments accounted for $5.9 billion in sales during 2009, according to a recent report by the National Guild of Music Merchants, which represents instrument makers and retailers. Despite the size of the business, Guitar Center is the only manacle with more than 100 stores.
